Inversion

As my site has a story, I intend to add an inversion to entertain the users.
The story concept it that the wolf looking for the sheep in Illusion Land.
Then how i can make this stroy has inversion???

He starts to look for the sheep from the place to place, but it has to come back to the original place where he started to look for without gaining anything. So he goese back his home with his
starving belly.

But... story doesnt end from that stage. it shows something funny fact. The fact is that the sheep have been always in the original place where the wolf stated to trip.

But how come the wolf and the users dont know? maybe that's because of the optical illusion.

Story telling

I mentioned that i want to make my website like a story book.

I look for the story which is also related with "Optical illusion".

It's the story of Wolf who is looking for the sheep for his dinner.

User follows the wolf to look for the sheep and travel along the web. and each page contains the image of "Optical illusion". Image of "optical illusion" becomes one of the part to consist the space and it creates sense of confusion of wolf while he is looking for the sheep. Very mysterious space is waiting for him so that he would never get the sheep.

I am gonna set the first page to introduce the web page and notice the user to start the story.

I will use the image of "Optical illusion" and some sound to take an attention.

and i will show the wolf saying, "I want the sheep for my dinner where are they?"

and when the user click the wolf, wolf jumps in to the image of "Optical illusion" and

user follows the wolf to look for the sheep.

for the second page i intend to start with street background and wolf walking along the street.

At this time wolf getting smaller to show the sense of space. and for the sky, I am gonna use the image of "Optical illusion". this image will shows the straight line but it would be seen as curved line because of the optical illusion.

third page concept

Those image in the picture is also one kind of optical illusion. the objects are consist of impossible structure so it implies the wolf cant catch the sheep

The animation of wolf and sheep running to catch and runaway will be on for this page.

but wolf never get the sheep!!!!

Techniques and flash

For the first concept, I preferred to work with photoshop and image ready. But this time i decided to create a web with flash and photoshop at the same time. I need to study more about action script and need more time to concentrate but it will help to improve my skills. 

Images and story board

I looked for the interesting images of "Optical illusion" and there were so many...

I tried to think about the story board.

I prefer the linear structured website...

I want to make my website like a story book so that user can travel from one page to another following the story. so i will make a separate page like a different place so that user can sense the movement from one space to another.

Change the concept...T_T

I found that the website concept better not to deal with the personal 

History.

I was going to do something with my brain like my drawings and stuffs.

But it's not good idea to do with personal information.

In the class, he announced about this to everyone...

So i decided to change the concept.

For a long contemplating, I tried to think another concept... 

And i noticed about the "Optical Illusion" things. That the things I saw while i was researching

about the brain image for the original concept.

There were a lot of interesting images of "Optical illusion" and I thought it can be

related with the space...

I hope it would work in a short time

GET Start with main layout of website

I crop and edit all the images i got from my image research to consist one page of my website.

It shows me with tranceparency brain and also it means the brain rail way.

To make a realtion with train traveling, i like to make the small train following the mouse curor.

So, the small red flag indicates the brain station which shows it's name of destination when the mouse is over. when the mouse is over the small flag, flag gets longer and will show the name.

Destination will be the issues of my thoughts which listed the previous post.

But this one is different from the idea sketch of my brain proportion, because it doesnt show destination's proportion while the idea sketch shows the proportion by brain size.

I will show the proportion when the flag is clicked.

If the flag with desitination which takes 20% of my brain, the new window pop ups in small size which says 20%.

I should look for the code which allows me to determine the size of new window pop up.

Brain Space :)

I thought about brain space of me.
What kind of thoughts are inside?
And what's the propostion of each thought in my brain space?

I listed some important and less important issues in my life receltly.
1. Family
2. Study
3. Money
4. Drawings
5. Friends
6. Boyfriends
7. Photography

and so on.

The most propotion holder is Drawings -> I really love it. I think this space will be my portpolio of drawings.

The last one is.... Study? hahahahaha

Broader the Idea

I decided not to only stick with the idea of language confusion.
To show inner of me, traveling by train, I think I need to add more of my thoghts.

My thongts and inner of me, these are thought to be related to my Brain. So I decided to use
the image of brain for my rail way.

So the concept will be my brain space.
The uses will explore my brain space by train, so they can have a look what's inside of me.

I had an idea of train to explore my thoghts.

becuase i have most of time to think when i travel by the train from

any place to any. even it takes 1 and a harl hour from home to uni.

In relation to the "space", I like to make the users feel they are on the train and

they see the door open and close when they get to the station of my thoghts.

This is done by photoshop and imageready.

moving texts idea ; Text design

In order to add more spacious sense to my website

I like to use some animation in which the texts move around the space.

this is just first practice of my text animation by image ready

Most stressful thing

I am very stressed because of  "language".

I originally speak Korean but

I should learn English for living and

also I am studing Japanese as i am interested in.

Also we used chinese characters as well

um.. can i make a relationship between this problem and my website concept??

I saw one korean fashion designer who had successful show in which he designed the clothes with

korean typography. He designed korean letter be various pattern and beautifully displayed on the clothes.

I feel some kind of proud and i got some inspiration from it.

anyway

I think I am gonna mix all different kinds of  letters to composite my self.

Maybe this kind of thing can be done by photoshop.

Space and the concept

What concept I can think of for this project...

related to the "Space"

I rather do something related to "Myself"

hm...

I usually have time to think on the train

as i should travel 1 and a half hour from house to university.

almost everyday..

during the time "1 and a half hour" I "Think" or "Read Book" otherwise "Sleeping"

I want express my thoughts and story by traveling on the train...

That's most related my self explanation. 

but.. what i usually think on train? imagination???

or what about the stressful worries and anxious???  

Website I found

The website i found to show to class is named "Garden"

This web conveys the meaning of "human" being "Machine" and "Nature" infected by "Mechanism".

It is expressed by flash animation and mouse interaction with users.

For example, there is rectengle space with one fish swimming. the spaces are limited, but

the fish swims naturally. however, when the human touches the fish (in this case the user can control the movement of fish), fish gets more look like sharp mechanic robert. fish gradually changes its appearances from nature figure to mechanic monster as long as user plays around

with mouse to control the movement of fish.

WEB ART AND DESIGN STARTS!!!!!

It was taken placed in the MAC LAB.
I had difficulties to set up the computer.
I used Mac pc last year for studing SOUND SONIFICATION course, however
I am not still used to Mac PC.

But it seems that it's not only problem of mine. Everyone seems to undergo the hard time to get used to it.
Anyway, "Web art" sounds bit abstract for me, should it display some art works? or the website should it be the art work itself? I dont know...

What should I do in this course?

I got the task to research about other ppl's website which I can tell "This is the Web Art" to everyone in the class. I hope I could found it, but I should understand about what the Web art is first...

I think i am gonna look at other students presentation first then I would get some ideas???? I hope...
